“Gandhi said that whatever you do in life will be insignificant. But it's very important that you do it. I tend to agree with the first part.” – Robert Pattinson as Tyler Hawkins in Remember Me

After donating $20 to Remember Me (yes, I've paid to see the movie twice and also saw it another time for free after my friend won free tickets -- Don't judge me), I can say this film is not only made for Robert Pattinson fans. Granted, Summit Entertainment has its' mind in the right place with their money grabbing schematics. Surely they must have thought using Robert Pattinson would have tweens and Twi-moms rushing to the midnight premiere (much like my friends and I did). But his acting abilities in this movie are not overshadowed by the works of Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan or by Oscar winner Chris Cooper. Robert Pattinson truly proves himself in this film and shows he's better than the emo, 108 year old, celibate vampire Edward Cullen (for those of you living under a rock, google the word 'Twilight' and watch what happens). I refuse to have my post spoil the end like it was spoiled for me two weeks prior to my viewing the film, but there may be a few spoilers so hang tight. I won't ruin the movie though. However, I do plan to get your arse away from the computer screen and to the theater to watch this sensational movie.
FOLLOW THE CUT

First off, the movie is hard to describe. Whenever Rob is asked what the movie is about he puts his face of confusion followed by a “PFFFFT! I don’t know!” And I really get why he has such a hard time describing the movie now that I’ve seen it and fully understand the undertone of the film. You can call it a love story, you can call it a drama, but in the end the movie is about life & loss... and about family. You will walk out of that theater with a new perspective on life. You’ll appreciate it a hell of a lot more and you’ll never question anything you contemplate doing ever again. The final scene that Robert is in has been etched in my mind since I saw it last Thursday night, and I cannot, for the life of me, get that image out of my head. It will stay with me for a long while along with the message this movie sends out.

What really got me was the relationship Tyler and his younger sister Caroline (played by Nurse Jackie’s Ruby Jerins) share. The connection I see between them is undeniable (and cue the Gossip tabloids “Robert Pattinson Dates 12 year old co-star”) and their chemistry on screen is absolutely remarkable. He helps his little sister get through being the “freak with no friends” in school but really has a lot in common with her; she's not a freak at all. She just has better shit to do than cut up a Barbie dolls hair and read Teen Magazines like the rest of the girls in her class do. But, the way they are with eachother is beautiful.

The love story is really nothing we haven’t already seen. They’re two people, haunted by their pasts trying to get through the present by sulking in each other’s misery. No really. However, the sex scenes are great. Tyler and Ally are such real people, you feel like you know them throughout the entire film leaving you speechless in the end. Tyler’s father played by Mr.007 himself, Pierce Brosnan is a complete douche in my opinion but softens up in the end; a workaholic father who never has time to spend with his children. Typical. But the way it’s portrayed in the film and the consequences of his “assaholic” tendencies is nothing you’ve ever seen before.

To conclude, I will say this: This movie couldn't have come out at a better time. People have already forgotten. Everyone is back to their ass hole behavior and it needs to stop. This movie will teach you to appreciate what you have and to live your life to the fullest. Finally, I confess, I went to the theater in hopes of seeing my Rob in just another movie. But what I got was so much more than I ever expected. He literally blew me away with his performance and I’m truly impressed with his work in this film. I’m like a proud momma. And if you don’t come out of that theater in tears or AT LEAST with watery eyes… your heart is made of stone.

or maybe, you're just heartless and stupid. like Kanye :) I’m JUST saying.

okay so I cried, because you are right the image at the end has stayed with me since I saw it, I am seeing it again Friday, and I grew so much respect for Rob, as we all know, I will never forget the way this movie made me feel, every aspect of it was beautiful. I cried the last 30 mins of the film because I knew what was about to happen too. Never did I think a movie could change my life as much as this one did, but it did, and for that I thank Summit and one awesome film....
couldn't agree with you more Lanaya. I'm so gla dyou liked it too. it's obvious we have a lot of things in common. thanks for reading and commenting :D

Alright I told you I would comment and now I am here lmao!
Ok to start of GREAT blog post. It sums up the movie pretty nice, without giving anything away. I did caught some of the foreshadowing which i got a kick out of. ;) Since that's all the movie really is lol. No I will not put a spoiler on my comment for respect to you, since you don't want to ruin the ending for anyone. [If they haven't seen this movie BY NOW then they have serious problems lmao!]
I too went to go see this movie just because it did have Rob but I do have to saw the trailers did help as weel. I did know the ending before I got to see but i think it helped me knowing before hand. I think if I wouldn't have known then there would have been twice as many tears. No matter what I cried my heart out. I do understand the whole movie was basically made for that ending but the plot/writting was just not there. Once I got to watch it for the second time I noticed it ALOT more which made me sad because the acting was beyond great but the story was missing so much. Overall I really did enjoy the movie. I went to see it a second time that should tell you something lol c[= They acting was great as I said. & I have to say my favorite scenes would have to be between Tyler & his sister. I to loved the relationship between them. I don't know about the relationship between Ally & Tyler I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. Not just because I want Rob but it didn't click so much with me. The sex scene yeah you can feel the chemistry for sure who wouldn't but I guess I couldn't get into it because I was more intrested on Tylers back story.
Well I told you it was gonna be long just not this long lol oh well I didn't talk about everything because I pretty sure if I wantedd to I could have broken it up into scenes or something lmfao! ^_^
lmao -- the Kanye at the end was for those who haven't seen the movie at all yet Andy. lmao and i love your love letter to my blog post. hope you'll become a regular visitor :) lol and yeah i do agree with you about the plot, but once you get to the end -- it all makes sense! lol <3
