A Letter to my favorite fan site...

Recently, my favorite fan site Letters To Twilight did a post on the Moviefone biggest Twilight fan contest... And boy did I have a lot of things to say about THAT! I don't disagree with them AT ALL...and I think it's about time a fellow fan, such as myself, speaks up about the steroetypes that come with being a Twilight fan... I will never take a bullet for a member of the cast... For the record...

While on Hiatus...

Hello all.
First, I'd like to apologize for disappearing for so long. I started Nursing School in August and it has pretty much dissolved any semblance of a life I ever had. One thing I HAVE been doing is going to concerts, getting new music on a weekly, if not daily, basis and learning a lot with this whole Nursing School nonsense..
Scrub your hands while singing the Happy Birthday song kiddos!

I couldn't really decide what to write on this post... All I know is that i felt like writing.. So, we'll see where this leads..

Concert Season

IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR !

That's right, the year's hottest bands are going on Summer tours and I'm a lucky bastard because I get to see them!! Now, I will say this... My taste in music varies.. One of the concerts I'm going to may cause some of you to lose respect for me. I'm okay with that because ultimately it is MY taste in music. So here goes... In order of appearance.. Concerts I'll have the honor to enjoy and what I want to hear when I'm there. I do also plan to tailgate and get on a good level for each concert...

Maybe not THIS bad...

Late > Never.

The movie has been out for about one month already, and chances are, if you’re reading this, that you’ve already seen it (probably more than once). Nonetheless, this post is swimming with spoilers. Fair warning.

cue: "Chop and Change" by The Black Keys.... now.
Today’s post will be my reaction to a little known movie called Eclipse. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Well, if you haven’t I’m pretty sure you’ve been living in a bat cave. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that I’ve already seen the movie numerous times. Enough times to know when Edward and Alice will appear on the screen to put my panties in a twist. I’m going to go ahead and assume you all know the character names and if you don’t, well – like Edward said, “You can Google it.”

because we all want our google search to be beautiful?

These Past Weeks Through My Eyes

In today's post I'll be quickly discussing a few things that have been brought to my attention these past few weeks. There have been a lot of things happening, so the post will be cut in two. In no particular order of importance, however I'm sure you can guess which events were at the TOP of my list :)

Fashion Police? More like Fashion Fire Rescue...

Fashion (noun): The style characteristic of the social elite.
Fashion is in the eye of the beholder. Someone could think shoulder pads on a women's blazer is fashionable in any era, whilst any other sane human being would rather use those shoulder pads to create a travel neck pillow of some sort. But, fashion for low class people (you know, people like YOU, ME... Vanessa Hudgens...) is fairly simple.

We throw on a nice little black dress, accessorize it and you're out the door and ready to take on the town. Chances are none of us will be getting photographed obnoxiously by paparazzi and getting criticized to the point that it can hurt our career. But the fact of the matter is that celebrities apparently cannot dress themselves therefore, they hire stylists who in the end can't dress themselves either causing them to humiliate the celebrity appointed to them. Now, not all celebrities are hot messes...

Does this make you... Twervous?

twitch (n): an uncontrolled, short, jerky motion.
nervous (adj): easily agitated or alarmed; Apprehensive or anxious; Relating to or affecting the nerves.

Today's lesson is about nervous twitching and the people I love who do it way too often. They even remind me of a special little someone [or rather something], but we'll get into that a little later. In case you haven't already noticed, I'm a Twilight fan. Yes, I'm one of THOSE girls (and you should stop passing judgement RIGHT NOW). So, lets get to the nitty gritty of the post. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are rubbing off on eachother. (Disclaimer: I love Kristen and Rob. Everyone who knows me, also knows this. All opinions shared here, are all in good fun.) Granted, their fame could be the cause of their twervousness (nervous twitching disorder). However, in all honesty, I do believe they sit at home together eating Hot Pockets and watching Ice Age 1,2 & 3. To then walk out of the house and say "TODAY, I AM SCRAT! SEE ME TWITCH!"

"Who is this Scrat?" you ask... Well, follow the cut to MEET SCRAT

A film to help you Remember what you should've never forgotten

“Gandhi said that whatever you do in life will be insignificant. But it's very important that you do it. I tend to agree with the first part.” – Robert Pattinson as Tyler Hawkins in Remember Me

After donating $20 to Remember Me (yes, I've paid to see the movie twice and also saw it another time for free after my friend won free tickets -- Don't judge me), I can say this film is not only made for Robert Pattinson fans. Granted, Summit Entertainment has its' mind in the right place with their money grabbing schematics. Surely they must have thought using Robert Pattinson would have tweens and Twi-moms rushing to the midnight premiere (much like my friends and I did). But his acting abilities in this movie are not overshadowed by the works of Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan or by Oscar winner Chris Cooper. Robert Pattinson truly proves himself in this film and shows he's better than the emo, 108 year old, celibate vampire Edward Cullen (for those of you living under a rock, google the word 'Twilight' and watch what happens). I refuse to have my post spoil the end like it was spoiled for me two weeks prior to my viewing the film, but there may be a few spoilers so hang tight. I won't ruin the movie though. However, I do plan to get your arse away from the computer screen and to the theater to watch this sensational movie.

stuck in be-‘tween’

“It’s time to move on.”- Zac Efron as Mike O’Donell in 17 Again

But, is it really time to move on? Let’s take my beloved Zac for example. He got his big break with the High School Musical movies and he also had a small role in the not-so-long-lasting Summerland. However, with the Disney musicals sadly coming to an end with the third installment hitting theaters in 2008, it was time for him to venture out of that “kiddie” genre. He attempted that with the film 17 Again and slightly accomplished it. The movie has somewhat of a more adult feel to it with some snarky language and sexual innuendos hidden in phrases like “you can plunder my dungeon anytime”. But before 17 Again was out to prove his ability to do more mature roles, he somehow got a role with the ever so lovely Claire Daines in Me and Orson Welles; a period piece which is, ironically, about a boy who’s only experience is in high school theater roles and gets a part in Orson Welles’ Julius Ceasar play. As much as some tweens swoon at the sight of Efron (such as myself, though tween, i assure you, i am not) it’s not the audience the filmmakers were aiming towards when doing the film causing problems with its’ distribution once it was complete. So my question to Zac is as follows: Would you prefer to make funner, tween friendly films that make you a lot of dough and get you into the public eye again? Or do you prefer to toss the mature roles to the side and make unknown/no recognition/almost-Indie films that show the true capacity of your talent in order for non-tweens to take you seriously?
